No 38 The Park

In 1899 two remarkable young women started their married lives in Pittville just a few hundred yards away from each other. Dr Grace Billings was Cheltenham’s first woman doctor; Florence Earengey was Cheltenham’s leading suffrage campaigner. Find out more about these two extraordinary women at this event with Dr Sue Jones, author of  Votes for Women: Cheltenham and the Cotswolds and Hilary Simpson from the Pittville History Works group.

Please assemble outside 3 Wellington Square, GL50 4JU at 2.00 pm to view the two Pittville houses where these women lived and worked. The talk will then be held in the beautiful surroundings of the hotel at No 38 The Park.

25 places only.  Booking essential via Cheltenham Tourist Information Centre, telephone 01242 237431.
