Two of our trustees, Chris Archibald and Judie Hodsdon, gave joint talks for Heritage Open Days on 17 and 18 September. Thirty-four people, most from Cheltenham, gathered at a spot just north of the Upper Lake to take in the view in every direction. Using copies of old prints and photographs, Chris and Judie explained how the landscape had changed from open fields 200 years ago to the park we see today, through its role as a private estate, then a municipal park (in its heyday and decline), and its current state with input from Friends of Pittville volunteers.
